Welcome to our new minister, Keith Simmonds
A diaconal minister in the United Church of Canada, Keith comes with a great deal of experience in ministry and beyond. Together with his wife, Laurel Walton, he holds time, space and heart for five adult children and two grandchildren. Retiring from full time ministry he looks forward to serving with the people of Campbell River United exploring Christ's call to Love.
With a long history as an industrial worker (mines and pulpmills), a union, political and community activist, Keith has served the wider church as President of BC Conference and as a Human Rights Observer in Bethlehem in 2020. He believes the opportunity of our time is to live towards a common ground where all beings are held and cared for (as Quw'utsun Elders taught him) in: love, generosity, kindness and respect.
Rev. Keith's office hours will be Wednesdays from 9-1 by appointment or drop-in. Phone number: 250-202-9960 Email: [email protected]
